Abstract: Aqueous solution of inclusion complexes of host 2,3,6-tri-O-methylated β-Cyclodextrin with guest hydroquinone and semiquinone have been studied by 1H NMR spectroscopy in this paper. The inclusion complex ion resulted from insertion of hydroquinone into the host cavity occurs easily, accompanyed with obvious changes of chemical shift of host methoxyl protons; whereas the same is not true for semiquinone.
