Abstract: A new sesquiterpene lactone was isolated from the roots of Ligularia intermedia, named as intermedoxide A. All the 1H and 13C NMR chemical shifts of the compound were assigned by 13C-1H COSY, 1H-1H COSY, 1H-1H NOESY and 13C-1H COLOC LR 2D NMR techniques. Its relative configuration is discussed here.
