Abstract: The HPD nitroxide free radical was first synthesized and used to study the influence of ginsenoside on the photosensitization of HPD. In both aqueous and human serum albuman systems ginsenoside showed obvious inhibition of the photo xidatio n and promotion of the photoreduction of HPD within 15 min after its addition. This seems to be the evidence of inhition or scavenging of the singlet oxygen of HPD by ginsenoside. The mitigatien of the HPD photoxidation and the protectios of normal tissue by ginsenoside is of great significane.
