Abstract: The active radicals produced in the photochemical hydrogen-abstraction reaction between five Tatty amines and five nitrofluorenones have been studied by means of spin trapping-ESR technique. The results show that the njtro-gen-centered free radicals arc formed in a first priority when there are N-H atoms and α-C-H atoms in amines, and the Carbon-centered free radical is founed only when there is no hydrogen linked to the nitrogen atom (N-H) in amine, as in the case of ceaction for the teitiary amines.
