EXPLANATION FOR ANGULAR VARIATION OF THE EPR LINES OF SINGLE CRYSTAL (Ⅰ) EPR of Cr3+-doped Aluminium ammonium alum

Abstract: In this paper we have proposed a new method by which the eigenfield equation can be solved more easily. A general computer programme has been written to calculate EPR spectra using this method. The programme has been applied to investigate angular variation of the EPR Cr3+-doped aluminum ammonium alum. The angular variation of the EPR lines for Cr3+ has been fitted successfully by this method. The spin-Hamittonian parameters were obtained:
D=0.04845cm-1, g2=1.9752 gx=gy=1.9761
This example fully illustrates the utility of the eigenfield method.
