MULTIPLE EXCITATION IN THE CENTRAL TRANSITION OF HALF-INTEGER QUADRU-POLAR NUCLEI IN SOLIDS

Abstract: A multiple excitation pulse sequence capable of greatly enhancing signal intensity is proposed for the measurement of the central line of half-integer quadrupolar nuclei in solids. The resultant signal-to-noise ratio as well as the excitation bandwidth were studied with the aid of numerical calculation. The superiority of the suggested method is demonstrated experimentally with a mixture of 40% NaCl + 60% NaNO2 powders.
