STUDIES ON THE PHOTOINDUCED ELECTRON TRANSFER PROCESSES IN ZINC OXIDE/PARAQUATS HETEROGENEOUS SYSTEMS

Chinese Journal of Magnetic Resonance, 1993, 10(3): 233-240.
The photoinduced electron transfer processes between zinc oxide and 9 kinds of Paraquats have been studied systematically by means of ESR. The dispersion system of ZnO-Paraquat-Micelle-benzene could give strong ESR signals after being irradiated by UV light, it means that photoinduced electron transfer processes between ZnO solid and Paraquat molecules took place without doubt, and PQ++ were reduced to form PQ+ radicals. The results also show that the PQ+ radicals with conjugation structure might give stronger ESR signals than those without conjugation structure; Micelle could also increase the strength of ESR signals; As oxygen was present in the system, ESR signals of PQ+ radicals disappeared, but spin adducts[DMPO-O2 - ]· and[DMPO-OH]· were detected. It is sure that the photoinduced electron transfer processes between ZnO and Paraquats can be seriously obstructed by oxygen.

DETERMINATION OF PLANT OILS BY 1 H AND 13 C NMR
Hu Banghao, Yuan Hanzhen, Guo Jianxin, Zuo Maoli
Chinese Journal of Magnetic Resonance, 1993, 10(3): 251-259.
1 H NMR spectra of five kinds of plant oils and the 1 H spin-lattice relaxation time T 1 of CCH2 C functional group have been obtained in this paper. The number of functional groups, the unsaturation degree, the esterification degree for each mole of oil have also been calculated. 13 C NMR spectra of soybean oil and tea oil have been recorded. From these 13 C NMR spectra, we have calculated the ratios of each functional group to methyl group, which agree with the results obtained by 1 H NMR quite well, and the mole percentage of saturated and unsaturated fatty acid glycerides in the two oils.

STUDIES ON THE CARRIER OF WAVING SPECTRUM SIGNAL DURING ESR DIAGNOSIS OF MALIGNANT TUMORS
Qi Zirong, Liu Jinwei, Sun Ling
Chinese Journal of Magnetic Resonance, 1993, 10(3): 295-302.
In the diagnosis of malignent with ESR technique, we observed that the signal of ESR waving spectrum was obvious for black hair, while ESR signal of white hair was weaker. The results show that human hair consists of 17 species of amino acids, the contents of which in black hair were identical with those in white hair, but the unique difference between black and white hairs was shown to be melanin. The carrier of ESR signal consists of melanin, protein and lipid, among them, melanin is the fundametal carrier of ESR signal.

OBSERVATION OF HYPERFINE LMR SPECTRUM OF NO, NO2
Gong Benzhi, He Yong, Liu Yuyan, Liu Zhuan, Li Fengyan, Li Jinrui, He Kuanglin, Chen Yangqin
Chinese Journal of Magnetic Resonance, 1993, 10(3): 323-328.
The nuclear magnetic hyperfine LMR spectrum of NO, NO2 is observed by intracavity laser magnetic resonance (LMR) experiment with a CO laser and a data acquired technique with a PC-AT. The measure principle is briefly introduced and results are reported.
